EDF Renewables wins tender for largest PV plant in Israel  :


EDF Renewables, a unit of French energy giant EDF, has won the Israeli government’s latest tender to build and operate the country’s largest solar plant, according to a statement by the Israeli Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure. The 300 MW project will be built near the southern city of Dimona in the Negev desert.

 


 

Vena Energy moves ahead with 550 MW of solar in the Philippines :


Singapore’s Vena Energy and MGen Renewable Energy, the renewables unit of Manila-based Meralco PowerGen Corp., have signed an investment agreement for 550 MW of solar in the Philippines. Construction is due to start later this year.

 


 

Unitil Breaks Ground on First Utility-Owned Solar Array in N.H. :


In a historic move aimed at supporting renewable energy projects in New England, Unitil Corporation officially broke ground Tuesday on a new 4.9-megawatt solar array in Kingston, N.H., that will be among the largest in New Hampshire once completed and the first to be owned and operated by a regulated distribution utility company in the state.

State and local officials joined representatives from Unitil and ReVision Energy for a groundbreaking ceremony at the site where the 11,232-panel solar array will be built on vacant land off Towle Road.

 


 

6.41 MW Solar Project Under Development by SolarBank in East Bloomfield, New York :


SolarBank Corporation (NASDAQ: SUUN) (Cboe CA: SUNN) (FSE: GY2) ("SolarBank" or the "Company") announces that it intends to develop a 6.41 MW DC ground-mount solar power project known as the East Bloomfield project (the "Project") on a site located in East Bloomfield, New York. The Project is expected to be eligible for incentives under the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority ("NYSERDA") NY-Sun Program.

 


 

DMEGC supplies modules for 940-MW Fishery-PV project in East China :


Photovoltaics (PV) manufacturer DMEGC Solar, part of the Hengdian Group, will be equipping a 940-MW project in the Chinese province of Jiangsu that integrates fishery and solar power generation.

 


 

Aslan, Calypte Sugi Power to partner on 2-GW solar hub in Indonesia :


Indonesia’s PT Calypte Sugi Power has attracted Singapore’s Aslan Energy Capital as a development partner for a project to build a clean energy hub at home with a solar power production capacity of 2 GW.

 


 

Meyer Burger pulls plans for silicon cell manufacturing in US :


The Swiss technology company first announced plans for a cell factory in July 2023. The 2-GW operations in a former Intel semiconductor fabrication plant would support its solar panel assembly facility in Goodyear, Arizona, which officially began production in June. Instead, Meyer Burger said its existing cell production facility in Thalheim, Germany, will remain fully operational and continue to be the company’s core solar cell supplier.
