Germany Invites Bids for 258 MW Rooftop Solar Systems :


The last date to submit the bids is October 1, 2024. Germany’s Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) has invited bids for 258 MW of rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.The tender follows a ‘pay as bid’ bidding procedure. The maximum value is €0.105 (~$0.12)/kWh. If the bid value surpasses the maximum value, the bid will be excluded from the award procedure.

 

 

450 projects invited to apply for Round 2 of 48C advanced energy tax credit :


More than 800 concept papers were submitted to the IRS, Treasury and Energy Depts. for Round 2 of the Qualifying Advanced Energy Project Tax Credit (48C) Program. The concept papers (project proposals) equate to nearly $40 billion in tax credits while representing $200 billion in total project investments.

 

 

Bureau of Land Management proposes 31 million acres of western land for solar development :


The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) today announced its proposed roadmap for solar energy development on public lands, designed to expand efficient and environmentally responsible solar project permitting on public lands across the West.

 

 

Solar module installations could hit 592 GW in 2024 :


BloombergNEF says the global solar industry will install 592 MW of modules this year, up 33% on 2023. The consultancy has also lowered its estimate for 2024 polysilicon production, as manufacturers are temporarily scaling back output.

 

 

Australian solar generation soars 21% in 2022-23 period :


The Australian government’s Energy Update 2024 shows that solar generation grew 21% in the 2022-23 period and is 11 times higher than a decade ago, jumping 3% in each of the past two years.

 

 

Scientists unveil desert solar modules with higher performance ratio, reduced temperature sensitivity :


Researchers in Morocco have carefully configured and tested a novel desert solar module optimized for harsh desert climates.  The new design delivered a 5.8% improvement in performance ratio, a 1.95% increase in efficiency, and reduced temperature sensitivity by 0.85% compared to standard modules.

 

 

Kosovo opens solar thermal system subsidies for mirco to medium businesses :


Micro, small and medium sized enterprises in Kosovo can now apply for subsidies to install solar thermal systems. The deadline for applications is August 31.

Kosovo’s Ministry of Economy has launched a rebate scheme for solar thermal systems aimed at micro, small and medium enterprises.


 

ATMIS Launches Solar-Powered Water Project In Somalia’s Hirshabelle State :


The African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) has initiated the construction of a solar-powered water project in Jowhar, located in Somalia’s Hirshabelle State. This project, unveiled at the Jowhar Airport Police Station, aims to provide clean and sustainable water access to Somali Police officers and local communities.


 

Azure Power Infrastructure Withdraws Appeal As Dismantling Of Extra 4.33 MW DC Panels Remains Pending: APERC’s Order Issued :


During the recent hearing, the Petitioner’s (Azure Power Infrastructure Private Limited) counsel requested permission to withdraw the Original Petition (OP) and associated Interlocutory Applications (IAs). On July 10, 2024, Ms. Shika Sood, representing the Petitioner, informed that her client would disconnect the extra DC panels, which had a capacity of 4.33 MW, on the same day.



 

GUVNL Seeks Approval For 500 MW Solar PPA With NTPC Renewable Energy At ₹2.78 per Unit :


The matter involves a petition submitted by GUVNL concerning the approval of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) signed with NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd. (NREL) for the procurement of 500 MW of solar power. The power is to be sourced from a solar PV project that NREL plans to establish in its Renewable Energy Park located in Khavda.

Pueblo Deploys Beam Global’s Solar-Powered EV Charging Systems :


Beam Global announced that the City of Pueblo, Colorado, has deployed Beam Global’s EV ARC™ off-grid, solar-powered electric vehicle (EV) charging systems. These systems, funded through a rebate from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program, are intended for use by both the general public and city fleets.
