Solar, wind energy generation rises as discoms cut payment delays in FY24 :


Wind and solar power generation in India rose as payment delays narrowed in FY24, according to Fitch Rating, bringing the nation closer to its renewable energy target.

 

Producers of clean power received payments from distribution companies or discoms closer to the schedule in FY24 than the year before, boosting cash collections, the ratings agency said in a report on Friday.

 

 

NLCIL signs 200 MW solar power agreement with Telangana discoms :


In March 2024, NLC India Green Energy Limited, a subsidiary of NLCIL inked a power purchase agreement with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited for a 600 MW solar project. Further, in the same month, NLCIL signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Rajasthan government for formation of joint venture to set up 125 MW lignite-based power plant and 1,000 MW solar power plant.

 

 

UPNEDA Invites Bids for 5 MW Solar Power Project in Uttar Pradesh :


The Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has issued a Request for Selection (RfS) inviting bids for the development of a 5 MW grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) power project in District Mau, Uttar Pradesh. The project will be executed under the “Build Own Operate” (BOO) model.

In a significant achievement, InSolare Energy Pvt. Ltd., through its fully owned subsidiary Suryayashish KA1 Solar Park Pvt. Ltd., has been awarded a Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) under the Government of India’s ambitious scheme to boost electrolyser manufacturing. The company has secured a capacity allocation of 10 MW in the highly competitive Bucket 2B category, which is exclusively reserved for indigenous technology.
