Himachal Pradesh Introduces Draft Regulations 2024 To Simplify Green Energy Open Access And Promote Renewable Energy Use :
The Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (HPERC) has introduced new regulations to promote the use of renewable energy within the state. These regulations, called the Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (Terms and Conditions for Green Energy Open Access and Banking) Regulations, 2024, are aimed at streamlining the process of accessing green energy and ensuring a smooth transition towards sustainable energy sources.
KPI Green Energy’s Subsidiary Secures Strategic LoIs for 7 MW Solar Projects :
KPI Green Energy Limited, a prominent player in the renewable energy sector, announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sun Drops Energia Private Ltd, has secured Letters of Intent (LoIs) for new solar power projects. The orders, awarded by domestic entities Wolkem India Ltd and Mahadev Texo Fab, are set to be executed within the ongoing financial year 2024-25 (FY25), with a cumulative capacity of 7 MW. The projects will be completed in multiple tranches as stipulated in the agreements.
Haryana Regulator Rejects DISCOMs’ Open Access Surcharge Of ₹0.82/kWh :
The Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission recently reviewed petitions submitted by the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (UHBVNL) and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (DHBVNL). These petitions were aimed at determining an additional surcharge to be levied on consumers using the open access system for electricity in the second half of the fiscal year 2023-24. The petitioners sought approval to levy this surcharge until a new order is issued.
Oriana Power Limited Secures Rs. 247.88 Crore Solar Project Order from Bharat Petroleum :
Oriana Power Limited has announced a significant new order for a solar power project from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, valued at Rs. 247.88 Crores. Under the terms of the agreement, Oriana Power will undertake the development of a ground-mounted solar project with a total capacity of 52 MW. This project will be executed under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) segment, including Central Transmission Utility (CTU) approval and transmission line construction. Additionally, the contract includes comprehensive Operations & Maintenance (O&M) support for a duration of five years.
BHEL Floats Tender for 2.5 MW Rooftop Solar Project in Telangana :
The scope of work covers handling the material, temporary storage and security, and shifting BHEL-supplied material such as modules, MMS structures, inverters, LT/ACCB panels, DC cables, AC cables, DCDB, ACDB, and foundation hardware. Bidders will also have to supply the monorail and its installation accessories.

PGCIL Invites Bids for 20.68 MW Rooftop Solar Projects in 8 States :
The last date to submit bids for Packages 1, 2,3, and 4 is September 30, 2024 and October 1 for Package 5 The scope of work covers design, engineering, manufacture, testing at the manufacturer’s work, supply including transportation and insurance, unloading, storage, erection, testing, and commissioning of the required equipment for the project.

Adani Green, TotalEnergies Form JV for 1,150 MW Solar Projects at Khavda :
TotalEnergies will invest $444 million to develop the projects AGEL is developing a renewable energy project at Khavda and has operationalized a cumulative capacity of 2,250 MW of solar and wind energy at the site. Once completed, the project will supply affordable clean energy to over 16 million homes in India, generate over 15,200 green jobs, and avoid about 58 million tons of CO2 emissions annually.
