MNRE Allows Rooftop Solar Vendors in States to Work in Neighboring UTs :


Vendors registered with a DISCOM in a state are allowed to work in other states tooThe Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has allowed rooftop solar vendors under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana from adjacent states to work in Union Territories (UTs). Under the program, vendors registered with one distribution company (DISCOM) are allowed to work with other state DISCOMs.



 

CERC Allows NHPC to Adopt Usage Charges of ₹2.45 for Selling Solar Power :


The Commission noted that the adopted usage charges were the same as the prevailing charges The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has allowed NHPC  to adopt the usage charges of ₹2.45(~$0.029)/kWh under the competitive bidding process to procure  1,000 MW of solar power under the CPSU Phase II (Tranche III) program.



 

Tata Power arm starts commercial production at 2GW Tirunelveli unit :


TP Solar Ltd, one of India's largest cell and module manufacturing companies and a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), on Monday announced the commencement of commercial production from the 2 GW solar cell line at its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu — the country’s largest single-location solar cell and module plant.



 

ReNew seeks funding for solar gear business :


ReNew Energy Global Plc is exploring multiple options to raise funds for its solar gear manufacturing business, including inducting investors. The aim would be to list the business in the next year or two, to cash in on the wave of investor optimism for new energy companies in India, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

Oriana Power Gets 128 MW Solar Project In Tamil Nadu :


Oriana Power Limited subsidiary, TrueRE Surya Private Limited, today received a contract from Dalmia..Cement (Bharat) Limited, (DCBL), a subsidiary of Dalmia Bharat Limited in Tamil Nadu. Under the contract, Oriana Power will build and operate up to 128 MW ground-mounted solar power plant in thestate. This project falls under the open-access captive solar power plant segment.



 

ISA Enlists 10 Winners From India :


The International Solar Alliance (ISA) has now announced the winners of the SolarX Startup Challenge 2024: APAC edition during the International Solar Festival held at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi . Among the enlisted winners, 10 companies are from India.


 

Honeywell commissions solar-storage microgrid for SECI in Lakshadweep Islands :


Honeywell Automation India Limited (HAIL) has commissioned and delivered a battery energy and storage system (BESS) based microgrid for SECI in Lakshadweep Islands. The microgrid has a 1.7 MWp solar and a 1.4 MWh BESS capacity.

 

This project is a part of the microgrid of Kavaratti, the largest island in Lakshadweep Islands. According to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, the decarbonisation project by SECI will reduce diesel usage by 19.8 million litres, offset 58,000 tonnes of carbon emissions and save an estimated Rs 2.5 billion in its lifetime.



 

India’s Grew Energy to Unveil Advanced Solar Tech at RE+ 2024 :


Grew Energy, an Indian solar company, is gearing up for a major showcase at RE+ 2024, North America’s biggest clean energy trade show, happening from September 10-12, 2024, at the Anaheim Convention Center & Campus. They’ll be featuring their latest solar technology, including their high-efficiency p-type (mono PERC) and n-type (TOPCon) modules.



 

Maharashtra Introduces New Green Energy Open Access Guidelines for Consumers with 100 kW and Above :


Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution introduced new guidelines for the Green Energy Open Access program in Maharashtra. This initiative is aimed at consumers seeking to utilize renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and other green energy solutions. The goal is to allow greater access to green energy while reducing dependency on fossil fuels, benefiting both consumers and the environment.



 

SECI Partners With Education Ministry For Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Projects :


The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Higher Education as part of the PM Surya Ghar Yojana. This new partnership aims to advance the deployment of Grid Connected Rooftop (GCRT) solar projects across a range of educational institutions, including colleges and universities. Under this agreement, SECI will manage the installation of solar panels on rooftops of various buildings under the Department of Higher Education.



 

Prozeal Green Energy, Golyan Power sign JV pact for solar projects in Nepal :


Ahmedabad-based Prozeal Green Energy and Nepalese firm Golyan Power have inked a joint venture agreement for setting up solar power projects in the Himalayan nation. The agreement was signed on Tuesday at Golyan Group headquarters in Kathmandu, marking a significant milestone in both companies' commitment to advancing renewable energy solutions, a statement said.
