Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) on Thursday announced that it has completed signing a 50:50 joint venture (JV) with TotalEnergies, according to an exchange filing. As part of the JV, TotalEnergies has invested USD 444 million in its subsidiary to acquire a 50 per cent stake in AGEL's solar projects located at the world's largest renewable energy plant in Khavda, Gujarat, the filing said.

Wind and solar power capacity must grow five times to meet climate goals :


The study, conducted by Climate Analytics and New Climate Institute, examined 11 countries accounting for over 70% of current wind and solar capacity. To meet climate goals, these technologies must grow five-fold by 2030 and eight-fold by 2035, a pace three times faster than current annual rates.


 

GE Vernova Set To Supply 51.3 MW Wind Energy To Powerica :


US-based wind energy company GE Vernova recently signed an agreement to supply 51.3 MW of wind turbines to Powerica in Gujarat. For its 51.3 MW project in Devbhumi Dwarka, Gujarat, Powerica has chosen to install 19 GE Vernova 2.7 MW-132 wind turbine generators (WTGs).


 

Zetwerk Gets 1515 MW Module Contract From NTPC To Supply PV Modules :


Bengaluru based Contract manufacturing marketplace Zetwerk has received a second, major contact from NTPC Renewables to supply 1515 MWp of ALMM-compliant solar PV modules for the 1200 MW Khavda Solar project in Gujarat.


 

NTPC REL Floats 1 GW Land, Power Evacuation Tender In Karnataka :


NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has released a tender for a land and power evacuation package to develop 1 GW (1000 MW) ISTS-connected solar PV projects in the Bidar Region in Karnataka. The tender sets October 24th as the last date for bid submission.

India’s utility-scale solar space continues to grow at a rapid pace, supported by a transparent and competitive bidding mechanism, an expanding solar industry, willing offtakers and an enthusiastic and deep-pocketed developer base. The country’s cumulative solar power capacity has reached 87.21 GW as of July 2024, with ground-mounted solar forming the  bulk of the capacity at 67.52 GW. There is a huge gap, in terms of capacity, between rooftop solar (just 13.4 GW) and ground-mounted solar.

CERC Adopts Tariff for 1500 MW Solar Projects :

In a significant move towards enhancing renewable energy infrastructure, SJVN Ltd, a state-run hydropower producer, has partnered with the Government of Maharashtra through two pivotal Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs). These agreements aim to develop an impressive 8.1 GW of pumped storage projects and a 505 MW floating solar project within the state.
