Haryana Simplifies Rooftop Solar Rules With Key Amendments: Faster Approvals And Easier Installations Ahead:


The Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission (HERC) held a public hearing on July 10, 2024, to discuss proposed amendments to the regulations governing rooftop solar grid interactive systems based on net metering and gross metering. This meeting was focused on finalizing the first amendment to the regulations initially established in 2021.


 

 

SECI launches 400 MW wind-solar hybrid tender:


Solar Energy Corp. of India (SECI) has invited bids for setting up 400 MW of wind-solar hybrid power projects on a build-own-operate basis in India. The projects can be located anywhere in India and must connect to the inter-state transmission system.

Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) has officially launched a tender for the development of a 100 MW AC Grid Interactive Solar Power Plant along with a 130MWh Battery Energy Storage System in Kalaburgi district, Karnataka. Valued at Rs. 563 Crores, this ambitious project aims to bolster renewable energy infrastructure in the state.

Rays Power Infra, a prominent solar EPC solutions provider and solar park developer in India, announced the acquisition of new projects worth INR 833 crores during the April-June quarter of 2024. These projects, spanning two states, will contribute over 680 MW to the company’s growing portfolio.



 

INDIA’S SOLAR OUTPUT GROWS AT SLOWEST PACE IN SIX YEARS IN FIRST HALF OF 2024 :


According to government data, India’s solar power generation grew at the slowest pace in six years in the first half of 2024, as the country further stepped up reliance on coal to address surging power demand,t the Reuters reported. Coal-powered electricity grew 10.4% during the six months ending June 30, a review of daily load dispatch data from Grid-India showed, outpacing overall power generation growth of 9.7% during the period.



 

Oriana Power bags contract for 40 MW solar project :


Oriana Power has secured a new contract from a cement manufacturing company for a 40 MWp solar power plant under the captive segment. To be located in Rajasthan, the company will supply power to the cement manufacturer. The project will be executed by a separate entity formed directly by Oriana Power or through its subsidiaries.

The company’s scope of work under the project includes engineering, procurement and construction, commissioning, operations and maintenance of the solar power plant. The project is estimated to cost Rs 1.55 billion. The project is scheduled to commence operations in 9 months, with an operations and maintenance period of 25 years starting from the beginning of commercial operations.



 

Himachal Pradesh Commission Approves PPA for 1 MW Solar Project :


The Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (“HPERC”) has approved the power purchase agreement (PPA) signed between the HP State Electricity Board (“HPSEBL”) and the 1 MW Ganpati Solar Power Project in Kangra District.

The ommission said that a tariff of ₹3.50 (~$0.04)/kWh will apply to the Ganpati Solar Power Project. The tariff is provisional and subject to further adjustment of subsidy, if any.
