Despite red flags over ‘excessive profiteering’, ministry reimposed solar module shortlist of domestic producers :


Data shows domestic modules 90% more expensive; could impact power tariffs. Despite concerns flagged at the highest levels in the government over market concentration in India’s solar PV module industry and its potential to inflate household electricity tariffs, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy reimposed its mandate requiring solar projects to source modules exclusively from a government-approved list of domestic manufacturers starting April 1.



 

UP govt plans to install solar power plants along 296-km Bundelkhand Expressway :


In the study, we found that 450 MW solar power plants can be installed on both sides. We presented the study to the state government and they have approved it ," Saurabh Kumar, vice-chairman of GEAPP, told PTI on Sunday.

The Uttar Pradesh government plans to install solar power plants along both sides of the 296-km Bundelkhand Expressway. According to GEAPP(Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet)-- a global alliance for green energy transition -- it has conducted a study and found that 450 MW solar power plants can be installed on both sides of the highway.



 

State aims for 70+ solar villages in two months :


The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) has announced an ambitious plan to provide up to 100 percent solar-powered electricity to two villages in each district of the state within the next two months.



 

Mega solar power project will ensure farmers get daytime electricity, says Fadnnavis :


Farmers will get free electricity during daytime after the Maharashtra government completes a 1200 megawatt solar power project, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said in Chandrapur on Friday.



 

CREST Floats Tender for 1.5 MW Rooftop Solar Systems in Chandigarh :


The Chandigarh Renewable Energy and Science & Technology Promotion Society (CREST) has invited bids for installing grid-connected rooftop solar systems with a cumulative capacity of 1.5 MW at government-owned residential buildings in Sectors 27 and 46.



 

NTPC Invites Bids for Sale of Carbon Credits from Wind and Solar Projects :


NTPC Green Energy has floated a tender for the sale of 100,000 carbon credits of Verified Carbon Standard (VCS)-registered wind and solar projects of 610 MW capacity.


The last date to submit bids is September 12, 2024, and bids will be opened on September 13.


Bidders must offer the lump sum price for the 100,000 carbon credits exclusive of the issuance fee to be paid to VERRA/VCS Board and other applicable charges and taxes. In return, NTPC will sign an Emission Reduction Purchase Agreement (ERPA) with the successful bidder.



 

Genus Power Infrastructures Wins 3.75 Million Smart Meter Contracts :


The three contracts are valued at a total of ₹29.26 billion Rajasthan-based smart metering solutions company Genus Power Infrastructureshas announced that its subsidiary has been awarded smart meter contracts worth ₹29.26 billion (~$348.6 million).

These contracts involve designing, supplying, installing, and commissioning an Advanced Metering Infrastructure system



 

NVVN Floats 25.65 MW Rooftop Solar Tender in Delhi :


NVVN has also issued bids for 7.1 MW rooftop solar projects in Bihar and Jharkhand NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC, has floated a tender for a 25.65 MW grid-connectedrooftop solar power project for government buildings in Delhi and adjoining states, including buildings under Delhi Police. The last date to submit bids is September 9, 2024. Bids will be opened on September 10. Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of ₹20 million (~$238,244) and a tender fee of ₹22,500 (~$268). The tender has been called for four categories: Capacity above 1,000 kW, capacity between 201 kW-1,000 kW, capacity between 51 kW – 200 kW, and capacity up to 50 kW..
